PETG 3D printing

PETG combines the easy printability of PLA with much of the toughness of ABS. For functional parts, brackets and covers it is one of the best value-for-money choices.

Material properties

Material properties
Tensile strength ~45–55 MPa
Heat resistance ~70–80 °C
Toughness medium–good
Key property tough, chemical resistant, low warping

Values are indicative; they vary with print orientation and settings.

Why choose it?

  • Tough, handles impact and bending well
  • Good chemical and moisture resistance
  • Low warping — good for larger parts
  • ~70–80 °C heat resistance

Typical applications

  • Functional parts, mounts, brackets
  • Machine covers, guards
  • Parts in contact with liquids (non-food)
  • Tool holders, fixtures

Keep in mind

  • Slightly glossy surface, harder to sand than PLA
  • For heat above 100 °C choose ABS/ASA or PA12
  • We do not certify parts for food contact

Frequently asked questions

PETG or PLA?

If the part sees load, heat or moisture choose PETG; for form or visual models PLA is cheaper and crisper.

What is the maximum size?

Up to 340×320×340 mm in one piece; larger objects are split into sections and joined.
