Carbon fiber nylon (PA12-CF) 3D printing

PA12-CF is carbon-fiber reinforced nylon: our stiffest and most heat-resistant FDM material. For loaded structural parts, robot end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), motorsport and industrial components.

Material properties

Material properties
Tensile strength ~70–90 MPa
Heat resistance ~120–150 °C
Toughness good (stiffer)
Key property carbon-fiber, rigid, dimensionally stable

Values are indicative; they vary with print orientation and settings.

Why choose it?

  • High stiffness, ~70–90 MPa tensile strength
  • ~120–150 °C heat resistance
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Matte, fiber-reinforced surface

Typical applications

  • Loaded engineering parts
  • Robot end-of-arm tooling, grippers
  • Racing and motorsport components
  • Replacing metal in lighter structures

Keep in mind

  • Stiffer, so less flexible than plain PA12
  • Higher material cost
  • Fiber-filled surface is not smooth — factor this in for wear surfaces

Frequently asked questions

Can it replace aluminium?

For some loaded but not extreme parts, yes: a faster and cheaper prototype or low-volume part. For structural loads we recommend an engineering review.

Can I order it online?

Yes, PA12-CF is selectable among FDM materials in the instant quote calculator.
